Migrating products to BigCommerce can be challenging as the platform only has one field to input all your customization and unique information into. This includes, PDFs, highlighted product features and other custom layouts that your eCommerce website developers have visualized. Migrating customer data into BigCommerce is typically a straightforward task with a simple CSV upload. However, passwords typically do not migrate due to privacy and cyber security. What can be tricky when migrating customer data is ensuring there are no duplicates, and standardizing the addresses which can be tricky if you are coming from certain platforms.

Migrating orders to BigCommerce, requires the use of BigCommerce’s API. All documentation on BigCommerce Order API information can be found here. The API can be different if you are running V2 or V3 of BigCommerce. Please note, if you want to link your orders to customers, customers need to be migrated first and the customer ID should be matched when uploading orders. This process can be tricky, but we can help, all we require is a CSV export of your orders in any format and we will do the rest!

Migrating variants (children products) to BigCommerce can be done via a csv upload in a specific format. However, the SKUs need to be unique. If you are using modifier options, those cannot be uploaded, and would require the use of API to migrate the options, this does not require a unique SKU for each variant. Depending on the store set-up it could be challenging especially if you want to upload different images, and options.

Reviews in BigCommerce cannot be migrated without the use of API. Each review has to have a title, description and rating. It has to be linked to a product ID found on the BigCommerce website. We can help you migrate your reviews from any platform to native BigCommerce Review section. Alternatively, if you are looking to migrate to a third party review platform, we can help with that as well.

In the past we have been able to migrate small e-commerce stores in as little as 2-3 days, however, complex 10,000+ e-commerce sites can take weeks to migrate. On average we do try to migrate products within 2-3 weeks.

We do offer post migration support, we typically work on an hourly rate going forward. Therefore, if you have new products to upload or images, we can import it for you at anytime after the initial launch.

The cost of ecommerce migration to BigCommerce depends on number of products and complexity of the migration. It can range from $1,000USD for a simple store to $15,000+ for a large enterprise account with a lot of complexity.

In order to migrate products we would need to work with your BigCommerce Development agency to ensure that we are following the layout as they developed in the demo product. If there is no documentation, its not a problem as long as the demo product has all the features that you are looking to implement and bring over. Orders and customers do not require any input from developers.

Yes! As long as the data in your current e-commerce platform can be exported, we can migrate it to BigCommerce. If your current information on your website is live, we can also manipulate the data to be able to migrate it to BigCommerce, it will just require a bit of a collaboration between us and you!

Yes! We have handled complex cases where there were many modifiers for some products and variant (children) products for others. We can update large amounts of products via API which is not possible in the current backend of BigCommerce.
